Design, supply and installation for mechanical work (plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning), electrical, control, insulation and calibration for the construction of a long term care facility in Corner Brook (Newfoundland): a project to obtain the environmental certification LEED.

Design-build with performance specifications (50% of engineering completed).

Newfoundland’s Engineer hired by SCV to validate the proposed reviewed concept.

Geothermal power, many special services including electricity for emergency call button and tracking bracelets pagers.

Main Challenges
Groupe SCV modified the performance specifications to optimize the project :
*Reduction of the power (kW) of the diesel generators;
*New electric distribution;
*Installation of an increased number of satellite panels to reduce the lenght of cable trays;
*2½ in. piping for domestic water, originally planned in copper, have been replaced by stainless steel to reduce the welding on site. Stainless steel allows for prefabrication and preassembly, thereby reducing the welding and field installation.
